Charles M.

Dover  |  Troop 5095

Project Beneficiary: TCC Elementary School

With the help of his troop, Charlie supervised the trimming and removing of 4 trees at Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School. The main focus is to fully remove the 2 dead trees in front of the school as they are hazardous. To do this, he needed  an adult who is, chainsaw trained, cut down the trees. All wood was gathered into a truck and taken down the road to a proper disposal site. When all the bush is cleared away Charlie brought in a stump grinder and grind the 2 stumps down. He then planted grass seed where the stumps were. Lastly there are an additional two trees on the side of the building with some hazardous limbs. Then this trim the branches and remove the wood from those as well.

Noah S.

Tippecanoe  |  Troop 5429

Project Beneficiary: Deersville United Methodist Church

For Noah 's Eagle Scout project he redid the Memorial Garden at our church at Deersville Faith and Fellowship.  It went from a ran down over grown Memorial Garden to a very beautiful colorful Memorial Garden with a garden arbor, bench, flower pots, a beautiful windspinner, a couple beautiful large metal flowers and installed two solar light planters. It is now a place where a person can go and sit to clear their thoughts, have some peaceful one on one time with God or just sit and bask in the memories of their loved one(s). It is a truly a place of tranquility. Noah

has been decorating it for each of the seasons. For the summer he planted flowers in the flower pots and hung a couple hanging baskets.  For Fall, he planted mums in the flower pots, put corn stalks and Indian corn on the garden arbor posts, and had pumpkins sitting through the garden. For the winter season, he asked members of our church to decorate a small tree (which we purchased) in Memory of a loved one. He hung snowflakes from the garden arbor, wrapped some green garland around the garden arbor posts and hung a couple red bows on the solar light posts. It has definitely brought a lot of smiles and has touched a lot of hearts at our church and in our community. It was truly an Eagle Scout project that came from his heart and love for his church and church family.

The Tuscarawas County Veteran Services Office is wanting to place a group of flag poles in front of their facility located in New Philadelphia. They are wanting a pole for the US Flag as well as a pole for each of the branch of the military; Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Spaceforce along with POW-MIA flag. I will plan, coordinate, and oversee the placement of these poles. Additionally, I will supervise the construction of a brick wall to frame the pole display and organize the installation of lighting to allow the proper display of the flags when the sun has set.
