EAGLE CELEBRATION
Honoring the 2023 Buckeye Council Eagle Scout Class
The Eagle Celebration is a unique recognition event honoring the 116 youth who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, Scouting’s highest achievement, during 2023 in the Buckeye Council. This on-demand, digitally delivered experience features a 25 minute show recognizing the entire class, the Eagle Project of the Year, guest speaker message from Justice Joseph T. Deters, and highlights of the Buckeye Council.
Achieving the highest rank in Scouting is a tremendous accomplishment representing the culmination of years of effort and leadership. Reaching this pinnacle is a worthy cause for celebration for those parents, leaders, and mentors who traveled the trail with each scout, and also for our communities. These 116 scouts have given significant service to help others, and the work they will continue to do throughout their lives ensures a bright future for us all. Thank you for joining us as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of the entire class and celebrate Scouting!

Justice Joseph T. Deters
Eagle Celebration Guest Speaker
Justice Joseph T. Deters is the 163rd justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio. He took office in January 2023, following appointment by Governor Mike DeWine. Prior to joining the Court, Justice Deters served as the longest-tenured prosecutor in Hamilton County.
A lifelong Cincinnatian, Justice Deters graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1975, the University of Cincinnati in 1979, and the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1982. He was awarded the University of Cincinnati Distinguished Alumnus in 1997 for outstanding contributions in legal practice and public and community service. Joe is married to his wife Tanya and together they have six children and two grandchildren.
