Meet Victor Perez

Cubmaster & Parent in Cub Scout Pack 502 in Ashland, OH

Scouting brings families closer together by allowing both parents and kids to put on the same uniform and participate together. For over a century, youth have participated in local Scouting programs that are parent-led and encourage the whole family to have fun together. The Cub Scout program especially builds the connection between parent and scout with many advancement requirements designed to be completed with a parent or with the whole family at home. Victor Perez enjoyed that experience as a youth growing up in Puerto Rico, and now has the chance to share that joy with his own daughters.

“Scouting has brought my family closer together because we get to do it together. I have long hours some days and Scouting helps us participate together. Scouting provides something we can do with everybody at the same time,” says Victor. His favorite memories include catching fish while camping with the whole family and launching rockets during Cyber Summer Camp. “I look forward to seeing my girls develop better… and Scouting provides that opportunity to them.”

The Buckeye Council serves over 3,000 Cub Scout families just like the Perez’s in Northeast Ohio, and thousands more through digitally delivered programs like HomeScouting. As we Celebrate Scouting, we Celebrate the families in our programs and the parents who lead those programs.
