Meet Christopher K.
Eagle Scout, Troop 7113, Mansfield
His Ability > Disability
Chris K. is an Eagle Scout and has Down Syndrome from Mansfield.

Christopher K., an Eagle Scout from Troop 113 in Mansfield, Ohio earned his Eagle Scout Award as part of the 2021 Class and has the genetic condition known as Down Syndrome. While it is usually associated with physical growth delays and mild to moderate intellectual disability, Christopher doesn’t let that hold him back. He went above and beyond the minimum requirements to achieve the rank of Eagle. Christopher earned 29 Merit Badges when only 21 are required.
For Christopher’s project, he and his troop constructed a beautiful outdoor space for Richland County Children’s Services. RCCS needed additional outdoor seating for the families to gather and connect in a safe, outdoor environment. Even though he only needed to build a Transformer Bench, he went further and built a swing set as well.
Inclusion is about living full lives – about learning to live together in community, celebrating all our diversity and welcoming the gifts of everyone. Inclusion is about our abilities, our gifts and how we share them and Christopher has so much to share!
